Social Media Management

Popular Social Media Tools to Use

If you are new or just starting to explore how Social Media works to connect your business or to gain more connections. There are tools that people are using that can help make it easier than ever to monitor and publish the things you share.

To start, if you want to publish to a wide range of Social Network platforms at once with one message you might want to get Ping.fm. Ping.fm allows you to write a message in 140 characters and send it out to the sites you belong to. Ping.fm will shorten a long link before you hit the send button, but does not track how many times the link gets opened. This next tool does that.

This tool that you maybe more aware of is Bit.ly. As I am sure you have seen it in posts from other people. Why do they use Bit.ly? It shortens your long link and tracks how many unique opens the url has had while directing them right to the page you connected want them to go to. This is a great tool for seeing what worked and what didn’t work when you sent out your message. Ping.fm will shorten your links but does not track them like Bit.ly. So it is always recommended to get your Bit.ly link before you broadcast your message using Ping.fm.

Another tool that I like and is new is MarketMeSuite. There are other services you can use like Hootsuite and Send Social Media, TweetDeck. These services all differ from one another but their purpose is about the same for the exception of Send Social Media. They combine many uses incliding email and analytics. All these tools have unique things they can do, this is where you will have to check them out to see which one fits the bill for you and your purpose.

One of the best tools to have is a blog. No matter what having a blog is a place where all your promoting brings people to read your work, see your photo’s, see your video’s and share your story or message. Without a blog or a landing page you are spinning your wheels. As a Social Media Manager the above tools help manage customer accounts through monitoring and posting for them. These tools are essential for Social Media Managers to service their customers accounts to get more eyeballs to their sites landing page.
