Social Media Management

Small Business Web Presence

There is no better day than today to revamp your look. At least take a look at your site and see if you are meeting a few things.

  • The Customer

Let’s face it, without a customer you do not have a viable business and the more customers you have your company’s value increases in respect. I want to touch on something that is the truth. Facebook would not be what they are if it wasn’t for the people. A site today has to have an interaction for their visitor and a damn good reason why they should be there.

  • A Plan

No matter what, you have to know where you are at and have an idea of where it is you want to go. A good plan has great details of anticipating the things you will need and the things you will have to have to accomplish your mission.  Put it this way. You would not plan a 3 month vacation of traveling the world without some sort of detail and expecting to be somewhere at a certain time and possibly having a plan B, Being adaptable on demand, Murphy’s Law should be respected!

  • Understand and Know Your Target Market

Roll your sleeves up, as this is crucial and takes some work .But by having the first two answered. Who is the Customer? The Plan to serve the customer with a plan to making some money. The research should come naturally and hopefully you did some research and crunching of numbers while developing the plan to serve the customer, targeting their needs, styles and desires.

Today is social and Informative, and your audience is watching!

You have no idea who is visiting; who walks in front of your store and sometimes you may not get to that customer in time to make a sale. They walked in, and walked out. The web is no different and having multiple ways of communicating increases your potential for a sale. I visit many business web sites, local businesses, and the interaction between the visitor and owner is limited. Join an email list at best is what I see as a common practice. There isn’t anything there to entice the potential customer a reason to give the owner their name and email. Most small businesses do not give a good reason for the potential customer to stick around, re-visit or even buy something. My question would be how many visitors do I get every day and did I capture their name and email? If there is a big difference then I would need to change that, offer something of value. The old term is “What’s in it for Me!”

Be a Rock Star, A Conductor and step up to the live show of interacting with your audience.

This is tough and can be automated. Using an email responder with pre made articles to go out to people on your email list takes a lot of the baby sitting out and delivers that interaction between the business and the customer in a timely manner. This is by far the best way to generate sales and customer re-visits as the emails would be written to entice that. Many companies do this and they know that we may not read every email but they will read them as long as they subscribed. Another saying has and is still, “the money is in the list!”

Social Interaction using social media along with an interactive web site can not only work to increase your business it will at best create a buzz about your business.

This day and age a business has to and needs to be up on what is being said. We have all heard that one customer doesn’t make your whole business but one angry customer can be like 100 mad customers. When it comes to social media, one post could start something disastrous for any company. Don’t you think it would be wise to monitor your businesses name, product and employees? No one likes bad news and I don’t think any business can afford to let a can of worms dump all over the floor. By monitoring your business this could stop the worms from spilling over and possibly stop anything before the worms got opened. Business owners take pride, at least most do, and if we can take care of a disgruntled customer before the lid is off, that is what we will do. A business owner knows that an angry customer can cost them, so make them happy quick. Social Media is growing and will grow; it needs to be a part of every business, not only for increased revenues, but to monitor what is being said about their business.

No Better Day than Today to Start

As anything it takes a plan to achieve the things one wants to achieve. I have also never heard a business owner say they have enough business; there can always be more business. So why are so many business owners not taking advantage of Social Media? It cannot be because they have too much business already. Maybe it is more fundamental than that. Maybe they just don’t know how. Maybe because it takes too much time and the business owner just doesn’t have time. Maybe it is something else. Who knows, but the thing is if you are a business owner and you do not have some of the things I have discussed working and in place you as the business owner is more than likely leaving food on the plate or money on the table. Start today!

Searching Keywords of Interest

When it comes to SEO and Keywords don’t overlook the engagement on Social Media Sites.

I love going to my Social Media Sites and searching my keywords for my blogs. A lot of people seem to wonder around trying to get eyes to their blogs when all they have to do is type in their keywords that relate to their blog and see what people are talking about in their field of blogging.

For example; Twitter search can be done two ways. To find people that you would like to associate with , just type in your keyword of interest and these people will pop up. The next thing is if you want to engage with people that are talking about it right now, put a hash tag (#) in front of your keyword and you will see who wants to know something or sharing something in your keyword of interest.

This works on all Social Media Sites for the exception of the hash tag. But who knows, it seems that the # tag is breaking new grounds and surfacing up on other Social Media Sites.

Another way to engage in what is being talked about or should I say articles posted is using Google Alerts. Here again just put in your keyword of interest ad receive a daily email of what s going on in those interests you have. What like is how forums will show p where people are asking questions and giving answers at these forums. It is a good place to go comment and plug your blog.

These are some tools that I use every day to draw readers to my blogs and join m list b offering something. It works and works well as long as you do it. Even if you are a part time blogger, blogging once a week, by doing this once a week will make the difference in gaining readers and building your fellowship. Give it a try!

Learn the latest techniques to Social Media

Popular Social Media Tools to Use

If you are new or just starting to explore how Social Media works to connect your business or to gain more connections. There are tools that people are using that can help make it easier than ever to monitor and publish the things you share.

To start, if you want to publish to a wide range of Social Network platforms at once with one message you might want to get Ping.fm. Ping.fm allows you to write a message in 140 characters and send it out to the sites you belong to. Ping.fm will shorten a long link before you hit the send button, but does not track how many times the link gets opened. This next tool does that.

This tool that you maybe more aware of is Bit.ly. As I am sure you have seen it in posts from other people. Why do they use Bit.ly? It shortens your long link and tracks how many unique opens the url has had while directing them right to the page you connected want them to go to. This is a great tool for seeing what worked and what didn’t work when you sent out your message. Ping.fm will shorten your links but does not track them like Bit.ly. So it is always recommended to get your Bit.ly link before you broadcast your message using Ping.fm.

Another tool that I like and is new is MarketMeSuite. There are other services you can use like Hootsuite and Send Social Media, TweetDeck. These services all differ from one another but their purpose is about the same for the exception of Send Social Media. They combine many uses incliding email and analytics. All these tools have unique things they can do, this is where you will have to check them out to see which one fits the bill for you and your purpose.

One of the best tools to have is a blog. No matter what having a blog is a place where all your promoting brings people to read your work, see your photo’s, see your video’s and share your story or message. Without a blog or a landing page you are spinning your wheels. As a Social Media Manager the above tools help manage customer accounts through monitoring and posting for them. These tools are essential for Social Media Managers to service their customers accounts to get more eyeballs to their sites landing page.

Social Media Grain Train

Another week has gone by and am learning things the hard knock way. I think most of us go through it when learning something new and any reference to it is out of date but still helps to getting oneself familiar with answers that we seek.

Through the pains and struggles I believe we have a Face book Fan Page up finally along with Mail Chimp List builder in place and my first follow up template too. I feel I am going at my own pace along with sharing and networking. So far so good and on track with a small out dated road map.

I have another site/blog I run called MyAeroponics where I am running my first campaign at increasing traffic to. I don’t have anything for sale but what I am sharing is a passion and feel everyone could do what I am sharing which is a indoor garden. In time I might have a product, but for now it is a hobby and I know it is talked about and am just putting my two cents in and add to the conversation and the development to Aeroponic Gardening.

Another thing I discovered this week is any link I put up in html should always have the Target=”_blank for the link to open in a new window. Just a good practice.

I have found an app on face book that does all the hard stuff in creating a Fan Like Page with a Page that Subscribers, The Fans, see to. It allows you to put up a hosted page. I will give details later.

Do you have all your profiles updated? Are all your network sites looking the same? Same picture? Same colors? Do you have an Identifiable look that stands out? If not you need to talk to me. I will offer this free until 2012. Just get in touch with me info@scottwkelley.com profile graphics for free in the subject line.

Three Custom Profile Upgrades for Your FaceBook, Twitter and Youtube

The other thing that I know is important is to have your own Word Press Web Site. It is a must. You can get one at Host Gator, a premium Hosting Service.

To close I hope as time goes you will get useful information here and stay in touch.

Working with Featured Content Gallary

I am finding out that this is not for the novice. But I am going to figure it out before to long.

I am finding out that I have to have two posts to get the gallery to load properly. Not only that, I also have to add custom fields to the post. So this is my second post.

There are four custom field names that have to be used for the gallery.

  • articleimg
  • featuredtext
  • alttext
  • thumbnailimg

But not only that I have to put a value to the field.

For images just copy the url from your media library. for featured text the value is what you want to be seen. Alttext supposedly puts text with the image.

It is also suggested that the images be no larger than 586px in width x 261px in height. You can crop to the larger images.

There is another feature to where you can add the gallery anywhere in your blog by using this script.

<?php include (ABSPATH . ‘/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/gallery.php’); ?>

I have mine set up on my landing page via the cool theme I am using called

intrepidity 1.5.1 by Top Blog Formula

It is free and very cool, I like it so far. But time will tell.

We Specialize in Social Media Management

Social Media Management Training

This is my first post on this blog and I want to share my endeavour with Social Media Management and Marketing.

I feel I have been grooming myself for this day and the creation of this blog. I have been active on the Internet for some years and have looked at so many money making opportunities while attempting to try a few i only got confused or lost interest due to not getting things to happen the way the program said it would.

The failures never detoured my belief that I would some day find something that would agree with me and was easy to digest.

When i found word-press I thought i was in heaven. New dreams started coming to all the possibilities. The platform also allowed me to express myself, gain readers and have some fun. Word-press never gets boring as it hooks up to all my social media platforms. By using certain Plug-ins my web presence gets easier and easier.

But experimentation, implementation and discovery are the key wonders of word-press and it’s abilities. But I can understand anyone new to the platform more than likely will go through all the struggles trying to figure it out.

There are many great blog examples out there and most are on a marketing platform, especially when it come to hosting word press. The free blog sites are fine, but, they own all your content. Sure you can remove it, but just like any web site you use to add content to, they own it and can copy it and keep it.

I created a face-book fan page that I swear i took down, but guess what. Face-book still has it up and I have no control over it. It still gets hits and subscribers but i can not manage it anymore. It isn’t even on my wall anymore. So it just goes to show that owning your own site, blog is key when it really comes to changing or deleting. Having true control over your content is crucial.

It also goes to show that having a good game plan with a commitment to what ever you post or create on other websites will have an impact for many years to come. It has been a lot of lessons learned through my mistakes, but what i have learned is starting to have monetary value.

Hence, knowing the things I know can help save others time and money. As we know time is money, through the Internet time has become even shorter. With a post and a click you are live. And if you know how to manage and get the word out the results can happen very fast. This is where the idea of starting a Internet service dealing with Social Media Management has come to life. I can help or even do it for you. For a price of coarse.

So subscribe to my feed, connect with me through the social media platforms and join my newsletter via email. I am not going anywhere and you might as well take advantage of my sharing. I am always up for a good conversation or will take on your questions. If I don’t know something, the answer is only a few clicks away.

Have a wonderful day and connect with me.
