I highly suggest if you do not have one is setting up a Gravatar. And use your face and name. It is okay I guess to use a logo and company name too, but a face and name is a whole lot better. The internet is becoming more transparent and down to the individual behind the screen and keyboard.
What the Gravatar will do once you connect all the pieces is make it that much easier for YOU to be seen and recognized by your face. Soon enough your name will go along with your face in recognition but the visual face will rule first. Where ever you post, on a comment, through Facebook, Twitter and your blog will all relate to you as the person behind the keyboard. As time goes and the more active you are at writing and posting Google will be watching. And when the + is hit, you will climb in authority to Google. It will be a popularity contest at it’s best. As people + you the better your ranking.
Google + has circles to manage all your different contacts. Pages can be created that connects to your blog and places you comment. Google even goes to the point of recognizing when you + someone’s work. If you are familiar with Facebook you will see the value of this as it is all over the internet instead of on a single website like Facebook. Now don’t get me wrong but Facebook has had it’s time and I am sure it will continue like MySpace did, but Google + will take web site syndication to the next level.
By utilizing Google’s tools like Google Analytics you can watch how your site is doing. Google Alerts is another unique tool to stay on top of your passions and the subjects you like. Google Alerts is the easiest way next to the reader to follow topics where you can add comments to. I like alerts because I get to see news, forums, blogs and advertisement pages as they come out that day from all over the internet. The only thing is your site or page has to be in Google Directory, which most people have been doing for years anyways. Google has always been the place to get your site into, and for good reasons.
So get on board with Google + and see the power we all have at our finger tips. Utilize your expertise and become the authority by being seen and recognized utilizing your Gravatar. Create powerful pages and hook your website up to them. Connect your website to Google + just like all the share buttons. Utilize Facebook and Twitter to get the word out and bring readers and followers in full circle by using Google + Circles to keep people informed. If you do not have an About page on your site, create one and use that page when new people are wanting to know more about you and your passions.
There is no doubt that the internet is changing for the better. We are seeing less spam today and better content. It looks like the cream is coming to the top as things are getting churned. Why not be apart of the wave that is being set up for the wave runners who just want to be real. Real is what Google wants along with great content that is genuine and real. They are going for transparency of the truth where a handle will be a handle but a name will be gold and treated as such. What a great time to be what it is you want to be.
