Your First Step

Going From

No-Body

to

Somebody

Who the heck are you? Come on, who are you actually? Are you scared to be open to the public? Are you scared that you may get ripped off? Vandalized? Sued? What is it? Or are you non-fearful and ready to climb into the future and Identify yourself for who you really are?

Look around you and take an inventory of how public you are. You will find that you are more public than you think. For example: Book a flight some where, you have to prove a little who you are with a credit card. When you go to the airport there are two ways to identify yourself via confirmation number or your credit/debit card. Most times the confirmation number is invalid and you have to use your credit/debit card to get your tickets. Guess what? You have been Identified! Next you have to further prove who you are by showing the ticket and your passport or some sort of State Issued Identification to prove who you are and you are coming from and going to, wherever. You not only have been Identified but Publicly announced your plans. So what is your fear, it is the way it is, do you agree?

Those things are done because of legislative laws not because the airlines wanted to. I think the airlines would have done a better job without the laws governing the security issues. But being on the internet and being on-line plus being hooked up to a mobile device is going the same direction as the credit card at the airlines. The one difference is, the people who are governing their cities and countries (i.e. FaceBook, Google, Microsoft) on the internet have decided we need to be transparent as to who we are on the internet and we say who we are. I am sure you have been feeling it as to leave a comment you have to be identified and it will not do you any good to be a AKA, anonymous anymore. Sites are using FaceBook and Twitter to log in and register new accounts. I am sure you have seen this. It is so easy for us to adapt to new technologies and accept the way they work. We see it, we like it, we get it, we install it, we use it and the cycle repeats itself again and again as we consume these things.

This new move has killed the affiliate marketer or make him re-think. And all the bull crap Adsense sites that were publishing similar content, we maybe seeing less and less of. We are starting to experience more content as the cream is rising to the top. And just not any content, unique content, written by people who are not afraid to say who they are. If you own a site going from No-Body to Somebody is a different process but verification of being The Site Owner and contact is crucial right now. I believe Google and other search engines are gearing to this and know that the guy that has 2000 sites with Adsense will have one heck of a time verifying all those sites so he will qualify for that top page spot or even to post a comment. He will be forced to pay for that top spot to sell the newest weight loss product, and it will cost as the price and demand for those words will go up, up and up.

So Where are the Important Places to be Identified With?

For the site owner The DMOZ is a start, but you better have a well structured site and it probably is best to have a static page. Most do, blogs are on the rise and are getting certified too. But the DMOZ is edited and voted on by people who can make you or break you as the value of being in this directory is huge as to who you say you are and you have relative content to title. Can’t fool these guys, so don’t try!

The other two directories to and I will let you guess the third to get verified with is Google and Yahoo the third is on the rise. You have seen the ads on TV for it, called bing. But what is funny is my site has been on-line for a year and is in the search engines and all over Google but when they went to look for my site they said they couldn’t verify it. To verify site ownership they give you some code and you have to be able to insert it in the proper place and then tell them to look for the code through the verification button. Before you know it you are verified and categorized. Awesome!

Leaving a Comment is Getting the Same Way.

Most people do not leave comments, but those who do, for the most of us, have ourselves identified with a Avatar by Gravatar, Email and our Website. Why most do not leave a comment is because more than likely of the process of registering and having to sign up for something, Something about leaving your personal stuff and agreeing to receive emails and or communications shuts the door. Most people’s in-boxes are already antedated with spam and we just don’t want anymore mail. Now there is an area of major abuse that our ISP’s don’t handle properly. For example: Charter will allow emails in that do not even have my email address, yet if I put a URL in an email to send out, guess what, I can’t, denied, not allowed, go figure. The thinking is a little miss-cue there.

Anyways, it is the day of identification as to who you are. I myself think it is a Good thing I just Hope Good Doesn’t Breed Bad. It shouldn’t as there are a multiple amount of Identifiers there too. Some are Open ID, Disqus and Google. In WordPress you have to have an account and be signed in to leave comments. This area will probably grow and lets face it, it is growing.

Try this, Google your name, your address, your drivers license, your license plate and see what comes up. Google Maps will show you where I live when you Google my name. With apps today the phone is an Identifier and shows where you are at right now and because it is open and public, Identification Is With You. Now don’t you think it is only fair that you know who is looking or watching you. I do, but maybe I don’t. Do you know what I mean? My my c-panel server tells me who has visited me, maybe not by name, but it soon will.

In conclusion if you are going from No-Body and want to go to Somebody Identifying yourself right now is a good thing to do. Lets look at it like a part of SEO. It will optimize what it is you are doing, no matter what niche you are in. So don’t be scared, take the bull by the horns and steer it before the bull runs over you and says you can’t do that we need Picture ID, State ID, SSN, Blood Sample and a copy of a bill to prove you live where you live and who you say you are since there is 200,00 other Micheal Jones’s!
